Overview:

Watercolor With Intention

Join renowned watercolor artist Dan Marshall for an immersive watercolor experience designed for artists of all skill levels who seek to learn, improve and refine their watercolor techniques.

He will help you break boundaries and instill artistic growth through foundational art truths and watercolor technique to infuse your painting approach with confidence and intention. Prepare to leave this experience with a new way of seeing as an artist. 

Schedule:

In addition to exercises around planning your painting and watercolor techniques, each day Dan will present 2 demos and you will complete 2 paintings per day. There will be a mix of studio and plein air work.

Day 1 will be primarily in the studio, 

Day 2&3 will be studio in the morning/ plein air in the afternoon

Day 4 will be plein air in the morning with the afternoon in the studio with instruction on using your plein air paintings as reference 

Dan will be presenting a wide range of subjects from local landscapes to street scenes to including figures in your work.

About Dan

Dan Marshall is a nationally renowned watercolor artist, demonstrator and instructor located in Denver, CO. He is an avid plein air painter, producing the majority of his work on location. He has been featured in and written articles for Watercolor Artist, Southwestern Art, Plein Air Magazine and OutdoorPainter.com and has received multiple awards from juried shows and invitational events including. He has previously served as a juror for The National Watercolor Society, The Colorado Watercolor Society and The Laguna Plein Air Painters Association. 

Dan has earned signature member status with The American Watercolor Society, The American Impressionist Society, The Laguna Plein Air Painters Association, an Artist Member of the California Art Club and is a member of The Salmagundi Club.

Dan’s work is greatly influenced by living in the American West. Inspired by the fading scenes of rustic farms and working ranches, framed in by the beautiful landscapes Colorado and New Mexico have to offer. Growing up on the East Coast and having previously lived in California, his work retains a strong connection to coastal and nautical life. Regardless of the subject, his unique view of the Americana aesthetic can always be found.

An award winning professional artist and leading name in the tattoo industry since 1995, redirecting the majority of his creative energy to fine art painting in watercolor since 2013. He’s been featured in Watercolor Artist Magazine, Southwest Art Magazine, American Art Collector and Plein Air Magazine. He is also a regular contributor, writing articles about plein air painting, experiences and watercolor instruction.

Daniel is represented by the Huse Skelly Gallery in Balboa Island, CA. and has had a solo exhibition of his work Casper, WY’s Nicolaysan Art Museum.

Daniel is a much sought after instructor, teaching watercolor workshops regularly and demonstrating for art groups throughout the country. He’s used that experience to start a successful online teaching program.

He is an avid plein air painter, being inspired by and painting the majority of his works on location. This has helped him to develop a confident style with an immediacy and freshness infused into each painting.

Daniel Marshall is currently based in Denver, Colorado. He can often be found plein air painting from the farms of the plains, to the ranches of the foothills and the peaks of the Rockies.

Attendees can enjoy an ice breaker the evening before the first day, complimentary continental breakfast served every morning, complimentary unlimited beverages, and afternoon treats each day.
